IAR - Potez 25, one of the most well-known aircraft built in the interwar period
Dan Antoniu, George Cicoș Collections
The prototype of the Potez 25 aircraft made its first flight at the beginning of 1925. It was a two seat, single engine biplane built in two variants, a civilian aircraft designed for medium distance
flights and a military aircraft.
The I.A.R. (Romanian Aeronautical Industry) Aircraft Factory in Brasov City, established in 1925, was a joint venture between the Romanian State and the Bleriot-Spad French company. It was the third aeroplane factory established in Romania, after Cherchez & Co. in 1909 and Astra Arad in 1923.
The images can be found in the book IAR-Potez 25, Aircraft built in Romania, authors Dan Antoniu and George Cicoș, a supplement of the Modelist magazine. If you are interested in ordering the book or the magazine, please write to stoica.horia@yahoo.com
