Born Iuliș Blumenfeld, Jules Perahim was Nicolae Vermont’s and Costin Petrescu’s student. After his apprenticeship, he quickly found his own personal way, thus becoming one of the youngest figure of Romanian surrealism.
His surname, Perahim, means “flower” in Hebrew and it is a translation of his real name (Flower field).
