Sorin Stoica was born on July 27 1978, in Bănești, Prahova; he was a Journalism and Communication Sciences graduate (in 2000, at FJSC - The Journalism and Communication University), with a master in Communication and undergoing another one in Anthropology (at SNSPA - The National School of Political and Administrative Sciences), associate tutor at the Cultural Anthropology department of the University he had finished - and worked as a researcher for the Museum of the Romanian Peasant (MRP). He collaborated with fiction and reportages in various Romanian magazines and newspapers and published fiction books - Povestiri cu înjurături ("Swearing Tales", Paralela 45, 2000), Dincolo de frontiere, ("Beyond Borders", Paralela 45, 2002), O limbă comună ("A common language", Polirom, 2005), two volumes of fiction together with a group of friends  who shared a passion for writing (Călin Torsan, Ciprian Voicila, Cosmin Manolache), and was included in other anthologies. He died on January 6 2006, due to a chronic illness. This month Sorin would have turned 35.

II) Alte convorbiri despre munca în străinătate ("Tour Re-tour, Conversations about working abroad" and "Tour Re-tour, Other conversations about working abroad", Curtea Veche, 2006), Între patrii ("Between Homelands", Polirom, 2006), and the fiction volume Aberații de bun simț, published by Polirom.
